Part of a large IT and telecommunications group, Computer Village was a major player in the I.T. rentals marketplace for many years. Alan Blackmore, owner and Managing Director of Expo AV was General Manager of Computer Village Rentals for 4 years prior to the formation of Expo AV in 2009.

In February 2012, Expo AV was pleased to acquire the rental fleet and ongoing rental business following Computers Village’s parent company’s decision to exit the rental market and focus on their core I.T. sales and Telco interests.

It would be fair to say that the decrease in I.T. hardware pricing has adversely affected the demand for traditional I.T. equipment like PC’s and Laptops.  However as a business operating almost exclusively in the exhibition and event industry, we still recognise that there is strong demand for I.T. for training events, forums, temporary internet kiosks/cafes, which is why we are pleased to be refreshing our I.T. fleet and servicing the Computer Village Rentals client base.

As well as an extensive Audio Visual rental fleet, Expo AV also carries a significant number of PC’s , Laptops and Printers as well as networking infrastructure and servers.  With a 20 year background in Software development prior to entering the Rentals industry, we believe we are extremely well placed to assist you with your short term I.T. rentals requirements.

As an example, we have been involved in several government training forums over the past 3 years. The largest training forum held at the burswood convention centre involved the provision and networking of 100 computers to 2 network file servers, as well as linking around a dozen presentation podiums and break out meeting rooms with laptops to a speakers prep room.

This enabled classes of  60 people at a time to be trained on newly released government software platforms, while speaker presentations were tested and distributed to the appropriate computers in time for each speakers presentation.

While this is an extreme example, we regularly provide computers and laptops that drive plasma screens on expo booths and matching sets of I.T. equipment for professional looking internet kiosks at the larger conferences and exhibitions.

Goldfields Mining Expo GME 2010

Are you heading out to the goldfields mining expo in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia as an exhibitor ?

If so, you may like to enhance your booth or custom display stand with a plasma screen or LCD from Expo AV. We typically take audio visual equipment to 30 or so exhibition stands at the Goldfields Mining Expo, so one more won’t worry us.

Typically, most exhibitors at the Goldfields mining expo will use a 42″ commercial plasma screen that is wall mounted or mounted on a 2 metre plasma stand. Either way, we can accommodate that requirement, as well as 50″ plasma panels for larger stands and 32″ LCD’s if you are limited on space.

All screens will accept inputs from DVD players and laptops, which we can of course supply. If you don’t want to expose your personal laptop to the red dust & heat of Kal, then it may be an idea to grab one of ours, as all our Laptop Rental units come with DVD player and powerpoint.

Perth Convention Centre

The Perth Convention Centre is the premiere venue for exhibitions and trade shows in Western Australia.

In our capacity as the only specialised Exhibition Audio Visual company in Perth*, there is rarely a day that we are not on site at the Perth Convention Centre.

The Perth Convention Centre, hosts most of the prestigious exhibitions that come to Perth, such as the Australian Oil & Gas expo as well as a host of diverse expos, such as Home Shows, Bridal Fairs, Good Food and Wine shows and even boat shows.  The six large exhibition halls have extremely good access via the loading docks and are frequently used as either one enormous hall for the boat show or AOG, or divided up into 6 separate halls, so that diverse events can be hosted concurrently.

Expo AV provides audio visual equipment to the majority of the events that are held within the Perth Convention Centre.  Typically we will provide wall mounted plasma screens into exhibition booths, or plasma and LCD panels mounted on free standing 2m floor stands.

Another large part of our Perth Convention Centre activities, involve installing audio visual equipment into custom built exhibition stands.

As well as mounting panels on to booth walls, we also fit out custom stands with a variety of panels and audio options. The above stand at the Perth Convention Centre, won a best in show stand award utilising expo av panels. We utilised a 32″ LCD and 42″ commercial plasma panel that shared a signal from a centrally located laptop & dvd and we also installed a 15″ lcd  with built in dvd player at  45 degree angle at the front of the stand.

The Perth Convention centre is a large venue, so sometimes the sound from a stand alone plasma or LCD screen needs a bit of enhancement.  Our audio options include 100 line volt amplifiers matched up to small but powerful JBL control23 speakers, that can be mounted externally or concealed in booth walls to provide crisp clear audio.

If however, you want to bring a gun to a knife fight, 300w PA systems are available to cover large areas or to really get your message across.

Be aware, that some organisers frown on really loud audio used on exhibition stands, so you may need to use a bit of charm.

Projector Hire Perth

Expo AV specialises in providing audio visual and computer equipment to the exhibition and events industries in Perth, Western Australia. This of course includes data projector hire for use in training room, classroom or meeting room scenarios.

Typically Projector Hire Perth options would entail a desktop data projector and either a tripod or pull up screen.

The majority of our hire projectors are Sony, as we feel these are a tier 1 manufactured product, with extreme reliability which means they won’t let you down halfway through a presentation. Projector hire perth or anywhere else is fairly straighforward, although there are a few things you should bear in mind when renting a projector.

Firstly, can you control the light ?  Even the brightest projector will struggle in direct sunlight. If your venue has a lot of glass without the ability to control the light with blinds or curtains, then the results will be dissapointing.  If you cannot control the light, then we would strongly suggest Plasma Hire Perth.

Secondly, what projection surface do you have to work with ?  Very often, a white or light coloured wall will do the trick when using a data projector, however the results on shiny surfaces, such as a whiteboard can be problematic.  The safest bet with a Projector hire perth, is to opt for a free standing projector screen. Tripod Screen

The tripod screen works well in open areas and on stage, where you are able to get the projector 2 to 3 metres in front of the screen.  This isn’t that suitable for a 3m x 3m exhibition stand, because the space between the projector and the screen cannot be used and it is difficult to get the data projector far enough from the screen so that the projected image fills the entire screen area.

Now being resourceful exhibition experts, we do have solutions for exhibition stands where clients insist on a projector.

The 1st stage is to devise a mounting solution for the particular shell scheme (type of walls) being used and then to hang an installable projector screen in the booth.

Pull Down Projector Screen

Having a proper high quality pull down screen will give you way way better results both in terms of asthetics and image quality than trying to pin a sheet to the booth wall or velcroing a square of white plastic, both of which are common mistakes that result in poor presentation to the prospective clients you are trying to impress.
